General Practitioner

Flexible Hours

A rare opportunity has arisen for a motivated, friendly GP to join our team at Tenambit Medical Centre.

We currently have 4 doctors and 5 nurses who provide full support to our doctors in all areas including immunisation, travel vaccinations, skin checks, minor procedures and wound care, care plans, diabetic care, ear syringing and off site health assessments. Our clinical staff are supported by a strong, knowledgeable reception team.

Situated in beautiful Maitland we are lucky enough to be 30 minutes to the Hunter Valley and vineyards, 20 minutes to Newcastle, 40 minutes to Nelsons Bay and only 1.5 hrs from Sydney. With fabulous schools, massive growth in the area and Stockland Shopping Centre not 5 minutes away this is a great opportunity for a friendly GP looking for a long term future in a supportive, AGPAL accredited general practice.

We are a privately owned family friendly practice with a big emphasis on patient care, staff education, and innovation. We are predominantly a private billing practice. Our General Practitioners take home 70% of their billings.

Days and times are negotiable and we are flexible depending on your needs.

Medical Receptionist

Maternity Leave Position

Tenambit Medical Centre is seeking a professional and highly motivated part time Reception staff member for a maternity leave position with the possibility of causal work after the contract ends.

Tenambit Medical Centre is extremely busy with 4 GPs, a team of experienced nurses and excellent allied health providers onsite all supported by our reception team.

Key duties include:

  • Able to open and close the practice as per set policies and procedures.
  • To greet patients and other callers of the practice in a courteous manner
  • To answer the telephone promptly and courteously
  • To make appointments for patients
  • To enter and update patients’ details.
  • To issue patients invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required.
  • Ensure recall policy is followed.
  • Maintain reception in a neat and tidy manner.
  • Scanning of mail and patient documents.
  • Assist the doctors and nurses by making phone calls, photocopying etc.
  • Check and action internal emails.
  • Fill in roster when staff are on leave.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key criteria:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sound organisational and administrative skills
  • The ability to prioritise tasks working in a busy and dynamic working environment
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A sense of urgency where required
  • Experience in Microsoft office suite of products and use of medical data bases
